Ariake USA Inc., a Torrance, Calif.-based producer of bouillons and meat flavorings, will invest $18 million in a 58,000-square-foot expansion of its Harrisonburg operation, creating 25 jobs. Virginia competed with Arkansas and China for the project. (News release)

Criticon Corp., a data processing firm headquartered in Alexandria, plans to invest $115 million to open a 150,000-square-foot data storage center in Harrisonburg, creating 25 jobs. Virginia competed with Maryland for the investment. (News release)

Ironworks Consulting, a Richmond-based information technology-consulting firm, launched Ironworks Compliance Group to assist clients in meeting regulatory mandates, such as Sarbanes-Oxley. Sally Cunningham, who has held management positions at Cadmus Communications, Genworth Financial and Arthur Anderson LLP, will head up the new group. (News release)

McGuireWoods Consulting, a provider of governmental relations services headquartered in Richmond, opened an office in Bucharest, Romania, to serve clients in Eastern Europe. Nadia Crisan, departing first secretary of the Romanian Embassy in Washington, will lead the office. (News release)
