AES Corp., an Arlington energy company, sold its interests in two biomass-fired power plants, held by its subsidiary AES Central Valley LLC, to Covanta Holding Corp. for $51 million. The sale of the two California plants was undertaken as a portfolio management move; the company says it remains committed to investing in renewable generation methods. (News release)

Dataline Holding Inc., a Norfolk-based IT consulting services firm, sold its federal services arm, Dataline Inc., to DLN Holdings LLC, an affiliate of The White Group, a private equity firm in Atlanta. Dataline Inc. will remain in Norfolk . Dataline Holding will focus on the commercial IT sector through Dataline Consulting Services LLC. (News release)

Dominion Resources Inc., an energy company headquartered in Richmond , sold its offshore oil and gas interests in the Gulf of Mexico to Eni Petroleum Co. Inc., a subsidiary of Italy ’s Eni SpA, for $4.8 billion. Dominion has announced plans to refocus its business on electricity generation and energy distribution. ( Richmond Times-Dispatch)
