Corning
Inc. plans to invest $12 million over three
years to expand its Danville facility, creating 50 jobs.
New product lines, such as polarized glass products for
laser telecommunications, will be introduced at the Specialty

Performance
Fibers Inc., a Richmond-based manufacturer
of polyester fibers, is expanding its joint venture in
South Korea to produce ultra low shrinkage fibers. Performance
Fiber's partner, Sam Yang Corp., will expand its plant
to increase capacity for fibers to be used in fabric
products, and rubber reinforcement items such as hoses
