August 2007
Author R.J. Shook ranks six Virginia financial advisers
among the best in their business in the country.
Shook has produced two national rankings for Barron's
in recent months: an overall list of top financial advisers
in April and a list of top women advisers in June. Two
Virginia men are on the first list, and four women from
the commonwealth are on the second.
DOING
YOUR HOMEWORK |
| There are, of course, many good, trustworthy financial
advisers in Virginia beyond those appearing in this
list. It is not intended to be an endorsement of
any one adviser or group. This is a reminder that,
before retaining any financial adviser, investors
should do their homework, checking out the adviser's
record and credentials thoroughly. |
Ric Edelman of Edelman Financial Advisors in Fairfax
is 27th on the national list, down from 15th the year
before. He has been the top retail adviser on the Virginia
Winner's Circle for three years.
Joseph Montgomery of Wachovia Securities in Williamsburg

before. He has headed the list of high net worth advisers
on the Virginia Winner's Circle for three years straight.
