one-quarter of its work force in reaction to slowing
subscriber growth. SunRocket is the second-largest
provider of VOIP services behind Vonage but faces

Brenco Inc., a manufacturer of roller bearings
for rail cars, laid off 40 production employees at its
Petersburg plant, citing a downturn in North America

Capital One Financial Corp., a McLean-based financial
services company, plans to lay off 1,000 workers by the
end of 2008 in a move to bolster its competitive position
in the financial services sector. The company did not
disclose where the job cuts would be made. The move is
in addition to 1,000 worldwide cuts previously announced. (
