Philip Morris USA, a Richmond-based
tobacco company, donated $25 million to the University
of Virginia for research on addiction and smoking by
young people. The gift is the largest in UVa’s
$3 billion fundraising campaign. Some of the funds
will be used to develop an anti-smoking marketing campaign

RPC Industries Inc., a Hampton roofing company,
was awarded a national industry excellence award by the
Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance for its restoration
work on the Scope Arena in Norfolk. The Scope
has had a foam roof system for almost 40 years and it
