Advance Auto Parts Inc., a Roanoke-based retailer of car parts and accessories, plans to open a distribution center in Remington, Ind. to serve a growing Midwest base. The facility will open in 2008 and employ 600 workers. (News release)

Allen, Allen, Allen & Allen, a Richmond law firm, opened its sixth office In Garrisonville to service clients north of the Rappahannock River. (News release)

Cardinal Bank, a financial services firm headquartered in Tysons Corner, opened its fist Maryland facility, a banking office in Bethesda. The move is part of Cardinal’s effort to establish itself in the Montgomery County business corridor. (BUSINESS WIRE)

Dollar Tree Stores Inc., an operator of single-price retail stores, plans to expand its corporate headquarters in Chesapeake by 75,000 square feet. The project will add more office space, a new data center, training facilities and create 100 jobs. (News release)

INIT Innovations in Traffic Systems AG, a German supplier of fare management systems for public transit, will expand its subsidiary and North American headquarters, INIT Innovations in Transportation Inc., in Chesapeake. The move to a larger facility will create 13 jobs, and INIT is also adding a manufacturing operation as part of the move. It will work with a German vendor, Altec GmbH, to create Total Quality Assembly LLC to manufacture high-end cable assemblies. (News release)

LandAmerica Financial Group Inc., a Richmond-based provider of real estate transaction services, opened LandAmerica Commonwealth Title of Central America, a venture of its subsidiary Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company. Headquartered in Costa Rica, the operation will service a growing real estate market in Central America, including many retired Americans. (PRNewswire)

Robbins-Gioia LLC, an Alexandria provider of program management services, opened two offices in Alabama, in Anniston and Huntsville, to expand management of defense-related projects there. (News release)
