Cremins, Gentile & Markley, a Fairfax law firm, agreed to merge with the McLean regional office of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller PC. Principals William D. Cremins, Colleen M. Gentile and Jennifer Cremins join the staff of seven attorneys in McLean in a practice to serve business and professional clients. (News release)

Greenlight Energy, a Charlottesville-based energy company, was sold to BP Alternative Energy for $98 million. Greenlight owns a number of wind-power projects in 15 states. Greenlight’s portfolio was attractive to BP, which focuses on alternative energy sources and processes. (The Daily Progress)

Performance Fibers Inc., a producer of man-made industrial fibers and fabrics headquartered in Richmond, bought INVISTA Resins & Fibers GmbH’s German polyester yarn business. The move is Performance’s third major expansion in the past year in a continuing focus to build its global presence. (Business Wire)
