MeadWestvacoInc., a Richmond-based
paper products manufacturer, has introduced Natralock,
a paperboard packing material, as a substitute for
plastic clamshell packaging used in many consumer products.
Clamshell is valued for being theft-resistant but cannot
be recycled easily and many customers find it difficult
to open. Natralock, made of renewable paperboard, is
teamed with products environmentally preferable to
current packaging methods. (PRNewswire)
United Airlines will add 22 flights at Washington Dulles International Airport this
fall. The growing travel market in Northern
Virginia is also being tapped by JetBlue Airways,
which began shuttle service from Dulles to New York, and Southwest Airlines, which will begin service
from Dulles shortly. Part of the increased presence
of air carriers at Dulles is in response to the demise
of Independence Air earlier this year. (The Washington Post)
