New campus research park under way at ODU

New job creation has been slow in coming to Hampton Roads’ modeling and simulation industry, according to a recent State of the Region report. Officials at Old Dominion University think things will begin to change with the creation of the $80 million Innovation Research Park @ ODU.

The park will initially include two five-story, 100,000-square-foot buildings in the mixed-use University Village on the ODU campus. More than half of the space will be rented to high-tech companies that align with the university’s research objectives. The rest of the space will go to university departments likely to form partnerships with the private companies.
