Circuit City Stores Inc., a Richmond-based retailer of consumer electronics, launched an online computer support service. PlumChoice Online PC Services allows technicians to access personal computers through a broadband connection to perform maintenance and troubleshooting for home users or small business customers. Geeks on Call, a Norfolk provider of house-call type service for computers in homes and small businesses, launched a series of books for use in assessing and fixing small problems. Among questions answered in the “5-Minute Fixes” series are issues related to wireless networking and computer security. The books will allow customers to fix simple issues themselves, and then call for hands-on service by Geeks for more complicated problems. (The Virginian-Pilot)

Philip Morris USA, a Richmond-based cigarette company, developed a device to deliver drugs in aerosol form deep into the lungs as a part of therapy for lung disorders. Chrysalis Technologies, a Chesterfield County division of Philip Morris, developed the device in conjunction with Discovery Laboratories Inc. of Warrington, Pa. The move is Philip Morris USA’s first foray into a non-tobacco venture. (Richmond Times-Dispatch)
