The Army Corps of Engineers gave its approval
to Newport News’ proposed King William County
reservoir that would be fed by the Mattaponi River.
The cost of the 1,500-acre lake was put at $150 million
a decade ago. The city must still undertake environmental
studies and faces continued challenges from the Mattaponi
Indian tribe and other area residents. (Richmond

MicroStrategy Inc., a McLean developer of business
intelligence software, won a judgment dismissing a
patent infringement suit by Business Objects S.A. of
San Jose, Calif. The United States District Court for
the Northern District of California ruled that MicroStrategy
used a more sophisticated approach to query generation
in its software than that claimed by Business Objects. (PRNewswire)
