Capital One Inc., a McLean-based provider of
financial services, cut 35 positions in Richmond and
Northern Virginia. The information technology services
will be outsourced to Datamation, Dataline, e-Loyalty

Hooker Furniture Inc.,
a Martinsville furniture maker, announced the closing
of its Pleasant Garden,
N.C., plant with the loss of 280 jobs. Work will be
transferred to the company’s plants in Martinsville
and Roanoke. Competition in wood furniture imports
