provider, bought SeaWest Holdings Inc. of San Diego,
a wind-generation company, for $60 million in cash.
The deal advances AES’s goal of becoming a competitor

C.B. Fleet Co. Inc., a Lynchburg
pharmaceutical and personal care products company, bought
CCS, a personal care products manufacturer based in
Sweden. The acquisition fits into C.B. Fleet’s portfolio

Colonial Webb Contractors was
formedJanuary in the merger of Richmond-based
Colonial Mechanical and Norfolk-based WEBB Technologies.
The merged company, based in Richmond, provides construction,
maintenance repair, engineering and manufacturing services.
It has annual revenue of $140 million and employees

MCI Inc., an Ashburn-based telecommunications
company, bought Network Security Technology Inc.
(NetSec), a Herndon computer security firm, for $105
million in cash. The transaction is the first for MCI,
formerly WorldCom, since emerging from bankruptcy last
year. MCI expects NetSec’s work in advanced security
systems to enhance its standing with government agencies

SI International Inc., a Reston
information technology company, bought Shenandoah
Electronic Intelligence Inc. (SEI) of Harrisonburg,
a record management and data analysis firm for $75 million.
SEI’s business with federal agencies fits well into
SI’s core business with defense and intelligence clients.
The sale did not include Power Monitors Inc. or SEI’s
