Advantis Real Estate Services Co., a commercial real estate company headquartered in Atlanta with operations in Virginia, added a business brokerage division focused on small-to medium-sized businesses. The new operation will concentrate on buying and selling businesses from Hampton Roads to Richmond that would sell for $250,000 to $10 million. (Daily Press)

BondCote Corp. of Pulaski County, a manufacturer of laminated industrial fabrics, will invest $2.7 million to expand its operations in the town of Pulaski and hire 27 workers. Virginia competed with Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and West Virginia for the investment. (Press release)

TowneBank, a financial institution headquartered in Portsmouth, established its first presence in Norfolk by leasing part of the former BB&T building on East Main Street. William Foster will head TowneBank’s Norfolk operation. (The Virginian-Pilot)

Virtus Marketing, a Richmond provider of call center and business-to-business support services, plans to invest $100,000 in an expansion of its Norton facility and create 35 jobs. (Press release)

Waterford Development, a Reston-based residential real estate company, formed a commercial real estate operation, Waterford Commercial LLC, to serve the Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia markets. Christopher A. Ciliberti, formerly with The Akridge Co., will serve as president. (Press release)
