WestPoint Stevens, a West Point,
Ga.-based textile company, announced plans to close
its Drakes Branch plant with the loss of 450 jobs. The
company cited removal of textile quotas from countries
with low labor costs for adjustments the company is
making, including several of its plants and laying off
