Danville Regional Airport was chosen by NASA and the National Consortium for Aviation Mobility as the test site for the Small Aircraft Transportation System. The project will develop a system of servicing small airports and rural areas with small, fuel-efficient passenger jets. (Danville Register & Bee)

McGuireWoods, a Richmond-based law firm, grew 18.8 percent in 2003, more than all but eight law firms in a National Law Journal survey of the nation’s largest 250 firms. The firm’s July merger with Ross & Hardies, adding 175 lawyers, was the fourth largest merger noted in the survey. (Press release)

Worth Higgins & Assoc., a Richmond commercial printer, received two “Benny” awards for outstanding achievement in the worldwide 2003 Premier Print Awards competition. Competing against 5,000 entries from around the world, Worth Higgins was awarded top honors for the TCU application carrier and Iona application, both for Royall & Company.
