Smithfield Food’s subsidiary
Smithfield Packing Company, announced
plans for a $65 million expansion at its Kinston,
N.C. ham plan which will provide for 206 additional
jobs after completion in April 2006. The expansion
is a reaction to an expected increase in demand
for boneless smoked ham products. (PR)
