Galax: $500,000 investment in the XM Satellite Radio customer service center for The Results Cos., 255 jobs.

Russell County: Expansion of AT&T's (formerly Cingular Wireless) customer service center, 135 jobs.

Wise County: $1.1 million expansion of Visador Holding Corp.'s new vinyl windows warehouse and distribution center in St. Paul, 100 jobs.

 

VALLEY
Augusta County: $25 million expansion of The Hershey Co.'s chocolate manufacturing plant, 150 jobs.

Botetourt County: $3 million expansion of Altec Industries Inc.'s mobile equip­ment manufacturing plant, 100 jobs.

Frederick County: $18 million expansion of Trex Co. Inc.'s wood and plastic composite lumber, 140 jobs.

Harrisonburg: $115 million for a new secure data center for Criticon Corp., 25 jobs.

Rockingham County: $12.5 million development of the Center for Advanced Drug Research Center for SRI International, 100 jobs.

 

SOUTHERN PIEDMONT
Bedford County: expansion of Barr Laboratories Inc.'s Virginia office, 100 jobs.

Charlotte County: $3.5 million for Alderman Rail Car Services' new repair and fabrication shop for the railcar industry in the Charlotte County Industrial Park in Keysville, 110 new jobs.

Danville: $1.1 million expansion into Danville's historic Tobacco Warehouse District by Horizontech Inc. for a sales and programming office and document storage warehouse, adding 100 jobs.

Pittsylvania County: $20 million for a new Essential Technology Center for Matrix Technologies Inc., 500 jobs.

Pittsylvania County: $281 million furniture manufacturing facility for Swedwood North America, a subsidiary of IKEA, 740 jobs.

 

NORTHERN VIRGINIA
Culpeper County: $270 million over five to seven years for a data center campus for Terremark Worldwide Inc., creating 250 jobs.

Fairfax: American Systems Corp. added 215 jobs to its headquarters.

Loudoun County: $8.2 million expansion of K2M LLC's spinal medical device manufacturing plant, 249 jobs.

Stafford County: GEICO Insurance regional office expansion, 790 jobs.

 

CENTRAL VIRGINIA
Chesterfield County: Expansion of Pearson Government Solutions' call center, 160 jobs.

Henrico County: $4.58 million expansion of Bostwick Laboratories' headquarters and pathology reference laboratory, creating 600 jobs.

Lynchburg: $2.5 million expansion of Tessy Plastics LLC's manufacturing plant, 120 jobs.

 

HAMPTON ROADS
Hampton: $1 million investment by modeling and simulation company Science Systems and Applications Inc., 230 jobs.

Newport News: $1 million expansion of Icelandic USA Inc.'s U.S. headquarters, 182 jobs.

Norfolk: $500,000 expansion for Computerized Imaging Reference Systems, 18 jobs.

Portsmouth: $3.2 million distribution center for coffee manufacturer Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA, 160 jobs.

Southampton County: $3.4 million warehouse and distribution campus for Southampton Terminal LLC, 300 jobs.

Suffolk: $4 million expansion of media services company Echostorm Worldwide LLC, 100 jobs.

Virginia Beach: $1 million expansion of Hapag-Lloyd's containerized shipping and distribution center, 42 jobs.
