Product or Service: Industrial Consulting Firm, specializing in environment turn-key services.
Year founded: 1989

ENSAT Corp., an industrial consulting firm, has recently significantly enhanced its service offerings by opening its Roanoke-based branch specializing in industrial services and environmental, health and safety consulting. In addition, ENSAT began providing economic development services. These two branches diversify the company's offering and extend its capabilities to be a one-stop shop for clients. The company prides itself on its largest service offering - solutions.

"I am extremely excited to welcome this group to our firm. Their combined professional talent of nearly 70 years is astounding. They brought to the table a diverse, yet compact skills set that will provide a value-heavy service to clients," said CFO Bill Graves.

ENSAT opened its doors in 1989 to offer turnkey services to industrial clients. One of the critical services was a 24-hour emergency spill response.

These spills can come from tanker-truck accidents, trial cars or pipelines, plant emergencies, tank failures as well as those based on fire or storms.

Some of the other services offered are air quality; compliance assistance; construction management; environmental management systems; health and safety; industrial wastewater treatment and water management; site investigation and remediation.

When ENSAT partnered with its Industrial Services group, it was a time for growth and change.

The change that this team brought included four engineering professionals. C.R. "Buddy" Newman is the team's principal managing partner. He has been crucial to the group's growth - and direction. Knowing that customer service is important, Buddy incorporates this to the best of his abilities. Holly Williams has experienced in industrial wastewater, municipal wastewater treatment, drinking water, groundwater, indoor air quality, environmental health and safety, and landfill operations. Liz Tashma is experienced in permitting, regulatory research, data evaluation, reporting, Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure plan protection. Charles Cecil works primarily with communications towers.

"This is an excellent opportunity for our team to be able to shine in its capabilities," Newman said. "I know that we are the best solution to a company seeking solutions. We can help facilitate governmental regulations and help a company further its relationship to its community." One of the innovative services that the company offers to clients seeking regulation assistance is its Compliance Register. This multimedia management system helps enable clients to organize and track all of its documents at its fingertips. Logs are easily accessed and updated, forms are printable, resources are in one location. In addition, it manages multimedia files including Microsoft-based files, images, presentations and videos. Despite its seemingly complex set up, it is modular and manageable. ENSAT provides training and support to all users, as well as any necessary customization.

Other strengths the group offers include construction and operation management; compliance and litigation support; health and safety consulting; environmental management systems and a wealth of training opportunities.

All of these services are not simply client based but are community based as well. ENSAT management encourages its team to think innovatively in providing solutions to companies. These solutions help the companies save money and time, as well as help the local environment.
