Meeting
and Conference Destinations:
Charlottesville
Meet in the presidents’
footsteps
Charlottesville offers a rich historical place to visit,
nestled inside the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Visitors can see impressive architecture and gain historical
insight into some of Virginia’s earliest presidents
at attractions such as Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello,
James Monroe’s Ash Lawn-Highland and the University
of Virginia’s Jefferson-designed “Academical
Village”.
For a unique experience, guests can eat lunch at Michie’s
Tavern, a Colonial tavern that offers recipes from America’s
early history. The city also offers wineries, outdoor
adventures, unique shopping and dining and more than
100 places for guests to stay.
The city gives conference goers an escape into a serene
setting, but it is easily accessible from Virginia’s
major cities, a two-hour drive from Washington, D.C.,
and an hour’s drive from Richmond.
